The Invisible Bridge: How Creativity Led Me into Tech

A Leap Into the Unknown (but Not Without a Map)
Almost two years ago, I made a move that, at first glance, felt like a leap into the unknown. After over 15 years in the creative industries — first as a designer, then as a creative project manager — I transitioned into the tech world, taking on the role of an Account Manager in a software company focused on the hospitality sector. I stepped into a universe filled with new systems, technical jargon, and processes I had never encountered before. Everything was new… except for one thing: people.
At the same time, I was also pursuing a master’s degree in Project Management — a journey I completed with distinction last year. That academic path was deeply connected to my professional evolution. My dissertation, “Points to Improve the Management of Creative Projects: A Method to Support Their Management”, was more than a research project — it was a personal mission to give back to the industry I came from. I developed a practical framework — the Project’s Panel — designed to bring more structure and clarity to the management of creative projects.

Redefining What It Means to Add Value
My mission? To manage a portfolio of clients and help them through their digital transformation journey. But this wasn’t just about hitting KPIs or increasing revenue. It was about building trust in an unfamiliar terrain, creating clarity amidst complexity, and — above all — truly understanding each client’s needs. Coming from a more unstructured and intuitive world, I had to reconcile the creative mindset with the rigor of technology.
Creative Instinct Meets Strategic Execution
What I brought with me — and soon realized was my superpower — was the ability to organize chaos. I was used to ambiguity, to incomplete briefs, to navigating subjectivity and turning it into action. I instinctively approached each project with strategic foresight: mitigating risks, anticipating needs, and establishing strong lines of communication from day one.
I’m a customer-centric project manager at heart. I believe that when expectations are managed clearly, and the client feels heard, everything runs smoother. That belief didn’t change when I became an Account Manager — it became stronger. My approach challenged the traditional “sales-first” mindset: I don't push products that won’t bring value. I focus on guiding each client at their own pace, helping them unlock the tools that truly elevate their operations. Ironically, this authenticity has led to record performance and sales.
Beyond numbers, what fulfills me the most is witnessing real impact: a hotelier finally streamlining a process they’ve struggled with for years, a team empowered by a new tool, a complex project finally finding direction. I gravitate toward these high-stakes, tailor-made projects — the ones where the path isn’t clear yet. I act as the bridge: translating client confusion into technical requirements, and complex system language into human, actionable insight.

Creative DNA in a Digital Future
This journey has been more than a career pivot — it’s been a transformation. Today, I don’t see a gap between creativity and tech; I see a spectrum where both worlds meet. My creative background hasn’t just survived the transition — it has become essential to the way I manage, communicate, and solve problems.
Being in tech taught me structure, precision, and the power of scalable solutions. But it’s the creative roots — now reinforced by academic insight and the Project’s Panel framework I developed — that allow me to approach challenges with empathy, flexibility, and strategic vision. And that balance — between the human and the system, the abstract and the concrete — is where I believe real innovation happens.
